Review by Geek Authority - “Unfiltered” smartly written by Paul Lauden and directed by Mark Fink this is a play about two brothers – one autistic and the other trying to give some disheartening news to his disabled brother. Paul Lauden himself plays the autistic brother and does it with such care and realism that by the end you definitely have a soft spot for him. Wonderfully written by him and wonderfully performed. Heidi Appe plays a waitress who seems to have an interest in Paul’s brothers but give an honest and sympathetic performance that you can see both supports Andreas in his desire to help his brother and her compassion to do the best to make Paul feel like he always fits in. Andreas Wigand plays the older protective brother with the news that no one is really prepared for. Andreas is sympathetic and kind, but often stern and that makes for a real relationship.
Review by Geek Authority - “Obviously Obvious” written and directed by Paul Lauden and was a very surprisingly interesting piece for all the right reasons. It’s sort of a narrative that is read out loud as both emotions and stage movement is clearly explained before they speak. It’s hard to explain here, but the comedy came from the ‘reactions’ and commentary said aloud as if we were hearing their inner thoughts - uncensored. Camden Singer and Paul Lauden both are very funny together as the express themselves in a very unusual, almost robotic - but clever and funny way!
